secret agent bomb invitation
What a way to set the scene for your Secret Agent party! All you need for this invitation is a polystyrene ball, black paint, white pipe cleaner and some orange and yellow tissue paper. Print the details of the party onto a strip of paper and wrap around the end of the pipe cleaner. Paint the polystyrene ball black, and when dry, use a pencil to make a hole deep and wide enough to fit the message and pipecleaner. Trim the pipe cleaner to a suitable length, then attach a flame made from the tissue paper. Handle with care!

I may use these for my son’s pirate party invitations. I saw your post on pirate party invites and I am considering those too, but this is sooooooooooooo unique. Pirates use cannons don’t they? SO, please tell me more. I will do a search for what polystyrene balls are, but can you clue me in too? How did you get the tissue paper to adhere to the pipe cleaner? Just by using the pipe cleaner itself? Also, how did you get the “flame” to look so awesome? Any more details would be soooo incredibly helpful. Or even more up close pictures. You do save samples of your stuff don’t you? You could become my new best friend. HA HA
I used 750mm polystyrene (foam) balls. If you were to use large balls, you could still use pipe cleaners - you can buy 300mm or even 500mm pipe cleaners. I used black acrylic paint - just a kid’s art one! For the flame, roll some yellow crepe paper/tissue paper/cellophane around the pipe cleaner and secure with some sticky tape. Then wrap some shorter orange crepe paper/tissue paper/cellophane around the yellow “flame”. I actually wrapped a little bit of sticky tape around the base of the tissue paper flame, but glue would also work well - just ensure you wrap the tissue paper around tightly. I then used scissors to cut slits and narrow triangles into the paper.
